Laughter is God’s hand on the shoulder of a troubled world. ~ Bettenell Huntznicker
Many of our homes have turned into an environment of task and to do list. Are you raising children that will want to come back home when they have grown up and left the nest? Home should be a place where they feel the most loved, encouraged and inspired. They should not feel like they have to perform, or gain your approval. When children feel JOY your house should be full of LAUGHTER and fun times as well as structure. What kind of home do you have? Go home and ask your children how they feel about being home. Also ASK your older children who have already left home for college or career.
Questions to ASK?
Does home feel like a safe place or a place of pain and disappointment?
Do we laugh enough? Don’t miss the opportunity to laugh with your children and your spouse.
Do you feel Joy and peace in our home? Life is short and should be full of Joy and laughter.
We are so consumed with making it, meeting every deadline, wanting our children and spouses to be perfect that we forget to enjoy the time that we have with them when we are home. Make sure JOY and LAUGHTER is still showing up at your house.
A good laugh is sunshine in the house. — William Thackeray
If LAUGHTER has not been around in a while, take a look at this video and be reminded how it brings joy to your heart and sunshine to your home. ~ Yolanda E Shields

Such an important thing to remember, Yolanda. We have been laughing a lot lately, and I realized how much we missed it in the stress of keeping our schedules going. GREAT thing to remind us all about. Love the pictures and quotes! Blessings from “Espressos of Faith”!
Thank you Bonnie for your comment. It is always important to take time out to laugh and enjoy our time with family. Time goes by so fast and if we don’t slow down and laugh we will miss some of the most important times. Blessings to you and continue to laugh because it is good for the soul.

That video was a perfect way to tie it all together and provide a visual. Those babies really tickled me. It’s amazing no matter how ridged life can get (schedules, and to do’s… which I’m learning to balance), laughter does have the ability to heal and ease over a situation. As an adult who’s married and a working professional I still think of my parents house and how I want to swing by just to sit at the kitchen table get a few laughs in and watch some TV. In fact I still call it home, primarily because of the warm memories I have their field with laughter and a host of other emotions. My parents no longer live in the same home I grew up in, but even their new “house” is a home away from home, and with every visit it overwhelms me with the feeling of Joy. My wife and I are learning to feel that joy and experience that laughter as we visit each others parents home. Thanks for this timely post!
Loved this, Yolanda. My husband keeps us all laughing … he is so funny. The kids are all grown now, but laughter has never left our home. And when they all show up for dinner … oh my, the laughter dances off the walls.
Thank you Susan for your lovely comment. I also love laughing with my family and friends. The laughter of babies definitely leaves me with joy that is contagious. Keep the laughter going because it causes others to see your joy. Tell your husband not to stop making you laugh because it will keep him young. LOL!
Blessing,
