Philippians 4:6-7 ESV – Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Prayer is not only good for you it works. I am strengthened to keep going as I meditate and focus on prayer, praise and studying the word of God. When I move away from this daily practice I notice a lack of focus and more distraction in my life.
Jeremiah 33:3 ESV – Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
I was meditating this week on the power of Prayer. As I look back over my life I realize the only reason I have made it is my focus on prayer. Prayer is a powerful force.
Prayer is a direct communication with God. You are just having a conversation nothing fancy or hard. It is very simple, but sometimes we make it seem like it is hard and not doable. Now don’t get me wrong it is powerful and it will change your life and the life of others that you pray for. If you are not sure what to pray just pray the word of God. To get started you can focus on the Lords Prayer first. It covers a lot and has so many parts that you can focus on and study for a couple of weeks.
Make a daily appointment on your calendar each day to pray and watch what happens. Make sure to intercede on the behalf of other people and not just focus on yourself. As you pray for other people watch God answer your prayers.
“Prayer is where the action is.” John Wesley
“The men who have done the most for God in this world have been early on their knees. He who fritters away the early morning, its opportunity and freshness, in other pursuits than seeking God will make poor headway seeking Him the rest of the day. If God is not first in our thoughts and efforts in the morning, He will be in the last place the remainder of the day.”
“Don’t pray when you feel like it. Have an appointment with the Lord and keep it. A man is powerful on his knees.” Corrie ten Boom
